Ranch is a 120 acre ranch located in Manton, California in the beautiful
Mt. Lassen foothills at approximately 2,300 feet. It is an area
long known for its apple orchards and now for its exciting and growing
vineyards and wineries.
I have been in the livestock business
for over 35 years, raising goats, sheep and Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs. I operated a
commercial Grade "B" goat dairy for over 10 years, shipping
to the Meyenberg Co-op in Ripon, CA. My grade goats are all descendants
of that herd. The ranch itself has been in existence since 1886
when Manton was a booming lumber town and famous for its prunes,
apples and beans.
I am not in the business of raising
animals to show but rather to provide the small homesteader with healthy,
proven stock for pleasure or home use. I do, however, maintain a small
herd of registered Nigerians from excellent milk and show bloodlines
that are perfect to show or to have for a 4-H project for your children.
